CUPE 338
Working in the Okanagan
Our strength comes from our members. There is a whole team behind the services Okanagan residents count on. A team of hardworking, dedicated, and helpful municipal workers who are proud to serve the communities they work and live in. Our members are the backbone of our local civil service, serving from the past, in the present and into the future. CUPE 338 members will always bring forward the very best in community spirit.
The Mandate of our union, the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), is to organize and defend workers and to promote economic and social justice for our members and for all workers.

Proud to Serve 8 Units
CUPE 338 is a “Composite Local”. This means it is composed of multiple units to make up the Local. In the union movement, our strength comes from our members. Having multiple units under one umbrella, magnifies our power at the bargaining table. It can also have an impact on gains in the region, if one of our units gets a good pay raise, other units look to that and pressure the employer accordingly. Our union solidarity, and power, is bolstered by having more members in the local, than less.
Strength in numbers!
Part of your Community
CUPE 338 workers are an important part of the local community and economy because that’s where they spend their pay cheques. Their incomes help support local businesses (who create local jobs) and bolster the local tax base, which supports public services that add to everyone's quality of life. Our local members take pride in the public services they help provide on a daily basis, from West Kelowna to Vernon, and everywhere in between. CUPE 338 is and always will be, at the heart of the Central Okanagan community.
