2019 CUPE Executive Election

The following positions were elected at the November 19, 2019 General Membership Meeting:

  1.  Vice President City of Kelowna Inside Workers (Graham March was acclaimed).
  2.  1st Vice President Regional District of the Central Okanagan (Scott Bruce was acclaimed).
  3.  2nd Vice President Regional District of the Central Okanagan – 1 year term (Chad Garecht was acclaimed).
  4.  Recording Secretary (Patty Holloway was acclaimed).
  5.  Vice President Glenmore Ellison Improvement District (Daniel King was acclaimed).
  6.  Vice President Commissionaires (Lynda Davy was elected).
  7.  Vice President Museum (Jill Evans was acclaimed).
  8.  Chief Shop Steward (Deb Tomlinson was elected).
  9.  Young Worker Representative (Amanda Schuffels was acclaimed).  

City of Kelowna Bargaining Survey

On behalf of the Negotiating Committee, the bargaining survey will be emailed to member’s personal email addresses on Monday, June 4, 2018.  Please check your personal email for the survey.

The Negotiating Committee will use the responses to this bargaining survey to develop bargaining proposals for this round of negotiations.  Please complete and submit this survey by Friday, June 15, 2018.

CUPE 338 Welcomes BMID Workers

Workers at the Black Mountain Irrigation District (BMID) have voted to join CUPE in a Labour Relations Board vote held today. They will become members of CUPE 338, representing municipal workers in Kelowna and water workers at the Glenmore-Ellison Improvement District and the Central Okanagan Regional District.

“We look forward to representing these workers who maintain a safe and adequate water supply that is crucial to residents in our area,” said CUPE 338 President Lee Mossman.  “On behalf of all our members, I’m pleased to welcome them to CUPE 338.”

The 16 new CUPE members working at Black Mountain Irrigation District are committed to ensuring that water remains safe, reliable, and supplied at the highest possible quality.

The workers at the Black Mountain Irrigation District decided to join CUPE to gain a voice on the job. CUPE338’s newest members include clerical staff as well as water distribution and water treatment plant crew.
